OMG! Vidya Balan wore nothing to make news – watch video

OMG! Vidya Balan wore nothing to make news – watch video

Vidya Balan’s latest photoshoot has her covered in just a newspaper. And The Dirty Picture actress’ intention was to grab headlines. At least that is what the Kahaani babe revealed in the making video of Dabboo Ratnani’s calendar. So, when quizzed about what was she wearing underneath the newsprint Sidharth Roy Kapur’s biwi replied, ” I’m wearing red lipstick, attitude and newspapers.”

Is that all? Or was there more below the newspaper? Vidya would like to leave the rest to ones imagination, at least that’s what she says.

That’s not it, Vidya even voiced her thoughts on the shoot. She said, “My shot is sexy. My shot is worth realms of newsprint. My shot is unpredictable. My shot is daring. My shot is gonna make news.”

And like Vidya predicted the shot did make news. Looks like Vids is not yet out of her Dirty Picture phase. Here BollywoodLifers, take a look at Bindaas Balan and her uber hot photoshoot!

Vidya Balan: I don’t have friends or best friends in the industry

Vidya Balan has certainly moved on from her favourite designer Sabyasachi Mukherji as well as politically correct statements. This talented babe who is forever under the media scanner for her style statements recently made some candid statements in an interview to a popular filmi magazine. Vids not only confessed that she had a ‘prosecution’ complex, but also went on to talk about happy married life and having no friends in Bollywood. Here’s what the actor who carved a niche in Bollywood for herself in the industry said about Bollywood-wallahs…

“I don’t have friends or best friends in the industry so I don’t know if I should be answering this. But it is also difficult to keep in touch with people beyond a film. As long as there is fondness and affection and no ill will, it’s fine. There are people I am extremely fond of like Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and of course Dia Mirza, not because I am doing a film with her (Bobby Jasoos) but there has always been warmth between us. Every time Sonakshi Sinha and I bump into each other there’s genuine affection that I feel. Even when you meet for five minutes it’s nice, you feel good about it. Like Nimrat Kaur and I go back a long way. When Nimrat came to Mumbai, I was working with Dada (Pradeep Sarkar) and I remember meeting her there. We kept in touch over the years. But in the last few years we lost touch. I didn’t know she was doing The Lunchbox. But I am so happy for her.”

Vidya Balan not pregnant, says Sujoy Ghosh

Vidya Balan‘s drab appearances in drab loose outfits and hush-hush her visit to a suburban hospital got tongues wagging. The actor during the promotions of her last release Shaadi Ke Side Effects decided to ditch dancing on stage with reality show contestants which further added fuel to this blazing fire, then came pieces of how nimboo paani was ordered to ease a queasy Vidya on another reality show during SKSE promotions. But her ouster from Sujoy Ghosh’s film was what kind of came as a confirmation. However the filmmaker who waited for quite sometime to work with his favourite actor says she is not expecting.

Ghosh in an interview said, “Yes, Vidya is taking a break. She said she needed a break. She hasn’t told me she’s pregnant. I don’t think she is. I’ve spoken to Kangana. If she agrees then that’s fine.”

While Ghosh is disappointed that he cannot repeat his success story with Vids, we’re sure Kangy’s lucky streak might just work for him this time around. As for Vidya taking a break from work looks like the only hero she wants to spend time with now is her SRK (Siddharth Roy Kapur).

Vidya Balan promoting IIFA! Wohoo!!

You know celebrations are in order and IIFA is just around the corner when celebrities go around the globe to promote it.
This time we have the ever gracious and elegant Vidya Balan promoting IIFA in various parts of America.

CHECKERED QUEEN

Vidya Balan
I love it when she wears sarees. Like totally. You know Vidya Balan is going to get the best dressed award when she turns up in a saree. That being said, she should limit herself to the plain ol’ saree. Experimenting to a bit is fine, but I’m not really sure if I like this black and white checkered Satya Paul saree. It looks great at the first glance but then you take another look. You notice that orange to the extent of being neon thing and you lose it. Why Vidya? But I guess the 70′s updo and the cat eyed make up saved her.

GREEK GODDESS

Vidya Balan
Now this is what I LIKE. Agreed that she’s experimenting again but it looks good this time. Wearing a Payal Khandwala design, Vidya Balan looked gorgeous. I love her hair style and those long earrings by Amrapali were to die for. I also like her brown make up. It matches her outfit. Those cuffed sleeves are a bit out of place but we are willing to ignore them!

FLORAL PINCESS

Vidya Balan
My my! Sonal Kalra Ahuja outdid herself with this creation. I have a thing for floral prints and I also like pastels so you can imagine my excitment when Vidya Balan shows up in this saree. No other words to describe my happiness. 10 points for Vidya and Sonal!

NAILING ABSTRACT

Vidya Balan
Nope. Won’t do. These loose tunics are just not her. Wearing a white Masaba tunic Vidya looked really happy but somebody will have to burst that little bubble of hers. Face up, she looked absolutely breathtaking. Her make up, her hairstyle, her earrings and that lovely smile. But the tunic and those heels were quite frankly terrible. What do you guys think?

PRETTY IN PINK

Vidya Balan
There are few ladies in Bollywood who look so beautiful and so pretty. Like I cannot define their beauty. Foe example, Shabana Azmi and Tabu. No, they don’t look pretty in everything and anything but in those long 6 yards. Getting added to the list officially is Vidya Balan. In a beautiful pink and yellow saree by Sonal Kalra Ahuja Vidya looked like she was ready to rule the world. Agree>

“Winning an Oscar not too far away” Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan might be a mighty talented actress, but Oscars? While the Oscars seem like they’re too big a dream to achieve even for someone as talented as Leonardo DiCaprio, our Vidya Balan thinks that one day she might even take the award home and she said just that at a press conference that was held for her to announce the nominations for the Indian Film Festival award function that’s going to be held in Melbourne.
This is exactly what Vidya Balan said about it, “I have never thought of winning an Oscar. Rather I never thought I would get the Padma Shri. I think God has been kind to me. I think getting Oscar award is not too far away” confusing us a little bit.
She also talked about her recent release Shaadi Ke Side Effects at the conference and talked about how she was very happy that the movie is doing so well. “People enjoyed the film and it feels good. I hope the film makes a mark. Life has been kind to me. I am happy with the love and appreciation that I have been getting throughout my career. I feel blessed. I try to do diverse and different roles” was what Vidya Balan said.

What happened to our Bollywood actresses after wedding?

Love is blind but marriage is an eye opener, they say. Some people take this too seriously. Bollywood boasts of a host of pretty actresses whose beauty and talent take the industry by storm. But what happens once they get hitched? What happens when they make their wedding vows? All of a sudden actresses who didn’t mind shedding in front of the camera become so conscious about minute details of their dressing. The change is probably because of marriage. We don’t blame them. But it is hard to see someone on screen for so long in a particular manner suddenly change to being conservative. Here are some of the top actresses of Bollywood who’s Shaadi has cause some serious side effects! We wonder what happened to our Bollywood actresses after wedding?

KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN

Kareena-Kapoor-Khan
No kissing, no exposing, no doing anything beyond mere romancing says the actresses who once shed so much weight in order to look hot in a bikini! After her wedding Kareena Kapoor has appeared in minimal films and has only been playing a dotting wife to her hubby and family.

LARA DUTTA BHUPATI

lara-dutta-pic
She has been completely missing in action. Lara Dutta married Mahesh Bhupati and then gave birth to a daughter and then disappeared. The lady who once has so many films at hand seems to have taken a big fat break.

AISHWARYA RAI BACHCHAN

Aishwarya Rai
Post marriage we have barely seen Aishwarya Rai on screen. It is sad that this epitome of beauty hasn’t had much of a chance to work in films post wedding. She has a 2 year old daughter and sadly, all we get to see is a chubby Aishwarya babysitting her toddler. We really do miss her on big screen.

KARISMA KAPOOR

Karisma-Kapoor
Karisma Kapoor ruled Bollywood at one point of time. Say during the early 90s, she was a rage. She then got married, had babies and then separated from her husband. She kissed films goodbye for a long time. She made her comeback in a film last year that flopped big time. Gone too old now we guess.

VIDYA BALAN

vidya-balan
She is the bomb. Married or not she barely shows any difference. The actress got married last year to Siddharth Roy Kapoor and seems to be pretty happy. All that has changed about her is that she has become more calm and matured.

GENELIA D’SOUZA

Genelia-D’Souza
Bollywood’s bubbly babe is nowhere to be seen. Wonder what has happened. While her husband is busy making news and grabbing offers, the pretty lady seems to have turned into a proper house wife. We barely get to see her beautiful face in public.

Shaadi Ke Side Effects movie review: Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan’s chemistry worked wonders!

Cast: Farhan Akhtar, Vidya Balan, Vir Das, Ram Kapoor, Purab Kohli
Direction: Saket Chaudhary
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Duration: 2 hours 23 minutes
We all have seen the effects of love in the prequel to this conjugal drama, but with this movie, the director wants to shake you up and wants to show the ground realities before you go ahead and enter into wedlock.
Of the millions of effects which marriage has on you, You will lose your freedom, will be taken for granted, will be less pampered, compelled to lower down your undue expenses and learn to say ‘yes’ and ‘sorry’ for every other thing you don’t want to. If anything is to go by, Shaadi Ke Side Effects isn’t an advanced version of marital issues but is still fun watching it out.
Story: Sid and Trisha(Farhan and Vidya) have moved well beyond the dating phase. The even survived the lovers’ tiffs and overcame the pre-marriage syndrome. Till here it’s a perfect love story and the couple had a gala time with each other. Wait! Only until a ‘pregnant’ pause changes it all.
Review: One of the classic dialogues delivered by Farhan is “When I do something wrong, I say sorry to my wife. When my wife does something wrong…. I say sorry to my wife.” Directed by Saker Chaudhary, the movie raises some genuine questions on the fake road-signs that could lead to an aborted marriage. Not much goes right for the movie, but then again, there is nothing bad which goes against the movie either. The film holds together primarily because of the intelligent writing and the sharp and crisp way the two main actors interpret the parts of the two individuals in a marriage that has a lot going for it.
From the movie, it was very evident that a lot of pre-production dine-tuning must have gone into the making Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan look compatible together. The two managed to give a fine performance without looking over-rehearsed. Farhan’s Sid and Vidya’s Trisha come together as a couple that desperately wishes to make the marriage work.
The script however, concentrates entirely on the male’s point of view. The movie starts off with a scene wherein, the pair plays a tantalizing game in a crowded pub to kindle some additional romance into their togetherness. Though the sequences look like we have seen something like this in the past. yet there is a uniqueness in the way Farhan and Vidya approach this sequence and their roles. The first half ends with something to eagerly look forward to in the second half.
But the second half, deliberately forfeits the untroubled spirit of a more penetrating perspective on marital woes. Though the film loses the touch and the grip which it had in the start, it nonetheless remains even-pitched preferring understatement to hysteria. A lot of the credit for the narrative’s correct pitch must go to the two principal actors. Vidya looks very refreshing. Radiant and expectant as a pregnant woman in the initial scenes, she glides into the motherhood mode with plenty of panache! In the later parts of the movie, she even tries hard to rejuvenate her husband’s attention in her.
Farhan role suited him rather splendidly! Rather, it was very clear from the movie that a lot of hardowrk had gone into making the movie from Farhan’s side. His character has two faces, one, which says him to be responsible husband, whereas, the other side keeps bugging him to go have a boys’ night out without feeling guilty about leaving the wife home with the baby.
Saket got it dead-right with a warm, funny, thought-provoking take on the man-woman equation! The chemistry between Farhan and Vidya at first is a delight to watch and later the way they showcase the tension which are thrown at them, is simply mind-blowing. What was lacking from the move was peripheral characters were written and played better.
The movie also sees Purab Kohli as a nosy neighbor and Vir Das as the boorish manifestation of Farhan’s character’s bachelor fantasies. This twist offers interesting possibilities but is short of being a support system in this martial drama.
To watch it or no: In the movie, you simply can’t take your eyes off Farhan and Vidya. They look evenly matched and superb in their fights and emotional distresses! But the movie made me wonder as to why the script takes them to Australia. Probably it is also one the many side effects!
The movie is a must go for all you guys who are soon going to take a shot at wedding! After all, thoda “warning signs before marriage” toh banta hain na boss! On a serious note, the movie will not leave you wondering as to why you wasted those precious 150 odd bucks on a movie and will also keep boredom at bay!
